About Us
The Taranaki Environmental Education Trust (TEET)
is a charitable trust that was set up in 1992. It is governed by a board of five committed professional trustees, who have a wide range of skills and expertise and are all actively involved in the trust's activities.
The Taranaki Environment Centre
is funded by the Ministry for the Environment and is a project of TEET.
Inglewood
The centre in Inglewood is a demonstration and research site for schools, individuals and local groups to meet, share information and learn new skills in sustainable living.
It hosts individuals, community groups, schools and organisations for site tours, educational programmes, workshops and courses.
The facilities are available for the public to use - meeting rooms, teaching studios, internet access, email lists, gardens.
It has accommodation and a self-catering kitchen for residential interns, WWOOFers, and volunteers who want experience in organic gardening and sustainability projects.
The Environment Centre projects, workshops, events, Permaculture Courses, the Enviroschools programme and the Hive bioregional directory are coordinated from this centre.
Environmental products produced on site and from other suppliers are sold from here in the shop.
If you would like to book a visit, seek environmental information or would like a workshop for your group or organisiation, we can help you.
Please contact the Centre.
Stratford
The centre at Pembroke Road in Stratford is a daily meeting point for another project of TEET, the local NZ Conservation Corps.
